Almost Christmas...

It's almost Christmas! I will have 5 days off work (including the weekend) and I am pretty excited. We are spending two days with my family, two with his, then time on our own. It's going to be really fun and relaxing. We ALMOST finished Christmas shopping last night. We have only 3 more things to get I think. I have started wrapping presents and I will probably finish that tonight. I am not quite as excited this year about giving Ryan his presents, since last year I waited in line for the wii and could barely wait until Christmas to give it to him. This year he knows what his big present is already, so it's not quite as exciting. But I do have some other stuff for him so it will be fun!

What is everyone else doing?

My weekend

So the weekend was pretty relaxing. We actually didn't really do anything but a little shopping on Saturday. I watched a lot of movies, including What a Girl Wants, The Sweetest Thing, The Grinch, some lifetime christmas movie, The Incredibles, and Meet the Parents. I wasn't feeling well on Friday or the first part of Saturday, so I slept a lot. It was nice though. It's going to be hard to be back at work!

Plans for next weekend are coming together I guess. It looks like we are spending 2 days with my family and two days with his, then doing Christmas on our own. Should be fun. Now if only we can finish the shopping.... Hopefully we can do that tonight.

I am hating this blogger

It keeps deleting my posts and won't put all my pics :( So ignore any duplicates!

more pics

So the pics of me were all taken by my husband. He is awesome at photography and I am excited for him to do more weddings in the future.

I just wrote a bunch of stuff but I don't know what happened, it seems to have been deleted.. :(

So our house update - we got the roof fixed. if you are a perfectionist, you might notice that the downspout isn't exactly verticle, but I don't care. I can finally sleep at night! we did find out that our taxes are going up a LOT, but even still, I love our house anyway and I am happier now. I am including a pic of the deck we built this summer too. I can't wait to be back out there in the Spring!

I'm getting the hang of this!

Well, I'm getting more into this blog stuff bc I really like reading other people's blogs. I feel so connected beign able to see pictures all the time. So I am going to be a better blogger!

Here are some pics from my friend's wedding. Also, the one in our hats was at her bridal shower.

A picture finally!

This picture is from Sara's wedding. I was a bridesmaid and Ryan was the photographer. So I don't have a lot of pics of us from that night, but someone snapped this one for us.

Being a homeowner...

Well, it is that time again. Time for me to hate being a homeowner. All of you people in apartments are LUCKY - lucky people! dont' get me wrong, we love our house. I am happy there, but it can be a lot of work. And since we both work full time, some stuff just doesn't get done.

Our roof...recently it started making this awful dripping sound and i think it is in the gutters or the downspout on the second story of our house and it is dripping to the first every time it rains, and even for days after. So we can't sleep in our room bc it is soooo loud up there. So finally today I called a roofer. I actually called the guy that did all the replacements after the hail storm. he was pretty rude (I think he was thinking that we were calling him out on something that was supposed to be under warrenty and he didn't want to fix it). He basically said it couldn't be fixed - he was on the phone! He hadn't even looked at it! Besides that, anything can be fixed, it's just a question of money! I told him SOMEONE can fix it, and i was calling him as a starting point, but I would call someone else. And I did. Someone at work gave me the number of a friend of her husbands, and he is coming in the morning! No problem at all. he said - yeah, i can swing by in the morning. Easy! Now it is a matter of how much it will cost to fix. But I will pay it. needs to be done....

Then there is the caulking of the shower that we STILL haven't done! We pulled out the old a few weeks ago, but haven't done this yet. So in other words, we STILL aren't using our master shower....

The Christmas lights are not all going up this year, and that is that. I am (getting) over it.

Then there is the leaking toilet(s). One for sure, the other is a possibility, but it's not as loud or as bad. I'm choosing to ignore that.

Then there is our light fixture...yeah....will that ever be fixed? prob not for a while. I don't do electrical.

So in other words, owning a home is a whole mess of fun and problems. I am hoping to tackle a few of these things this week since I am not having classes again until Jan.

Another weekend went by really fast

So this last weekend went by really fast! I can't believe how time flies. Friday night I did some chores around the house but fell asleep really early on the couch.

Saturday was mostly cleaning and running errands. Then Ryan and I went to see a movie - Dan in Real Life. It was pretty funny/sweet, but not my favorite. It was fun to be on a date with Ryan though. We just spent the rest of the evening walking around Easton then watching The Family Man at home. That is my favorite movie.

Sunday was another day of grocery shopping and errands. Oh, at the grocery, I got $71 worth of stuff for $40! I saved $31 with coupons and sales. I was pretty proud. We did some Christmas shopping as well, then made dinner. I am actually just about done Christmas shopping - only a few more oline purchases, and that is about it! I just need another weekend to relax!

Grades are in...

Well, I ended up with an A and an A- for my first quarter of grad school. Not too bad. I would have rather had 2 A's, but I guess it's not bad! I am really excited to go home this week after work rather than have to stay on campus for a few hours a couple nights. I don't know what I will do with all the free time... maybe get ready for Christmas?

Holidays

On Friday we celebrated Thanksgiving with all of our friends, I think it was the 4th time we have done this. We always have a good time. No one really took pictures this year, though. We had a lot of good food then exchanged names for our Christmas secret santa. It looks like we are going to Jess and Brian's new house to celebrate Christmas, but probably not until New Years weekend.

Ryan and I have decorated the house inside. We have our huge 9' tree downstairs with all our fun ornaments on it and colorful lights. Then upstairs we have the 7' blue and white one again. We have garland with white lights all the way down the railing and across by the loft. The fireplace has our stockings, garland, and candles. Outside is a different story...we have lights around the garage, but we have been too cold and busy to get outside and do the ones we usually put around the porch. I'm not sure if we will do it this year or not.

I am about half way done shopping I think. I went out the day after Thanksgiving at 5am and stood in some major lines, but I got some major good deals on some things. It was pretty fun. Hopefully I will make it to the mall some day soon to get the rest finished, especially bc we might be celebrating early with both families this year. Oh, and I think it is actually going to be one family per day for the first time!! We hated having to split the day, and now we don't have to. I think we are going to finally do our families on seperate days and we are really looking forward to that.
